I'm Rhode Island-based, so in-person lessons can be arranged for locals. However, I'm also available via Skype or FaceTime. Want to learn improvisation or advanced chordal work? Contact me, and we can work out a lesson approach that works for you.
My musical influences began with metal and instrumental guitar rock, but I immersed myself in jazz while at Berklee College of Music. After leaving school, I missed my rock roots and started playing metal. From there, I made a career out of playing music-- any style that comes along.
I truly enjoy playing in a variety of styles, which keeps things interesting.
Core Movement Integration (CMI) is a Feldenkrais-based approach, developed by Josef DellaGrotte, for improving overall structural awareness and health. What's this got to do with guitar? Like many musicians, I struggled with tendonitis. That struggle led me to CMI, which helped me learn to use my body in a more efficient way. I have completed a 100 hour certificate program which has helped me integrate these principles into my teaching.
